Vijay leaves Chief Minister’s seat, sits with ministers in Assembly; move grabs social media attention

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay moved from his usual seat in the state Assembly and sat alongside other ministers on Friday. Instead of using the seat reserved for the Chief Minister, Vijay took a front-row seat between ministers K.A. Sengottaiyan and Aadhav Arjuna during the afternoon session.

The Chief Minister usually has a designated seat near the Speaker’s chair. Ministers also occupy seats in the front row, with the seating arrangement decided based on factors including their seniority.

During today’s Assembly proceedings, Vijay got up from his official seat and moved to the seat between Sengottaiyan and Aadhav Arjuna.

Vijay’s move in the Assembly quickly caught the attention of social media users. Ministers and MLAs sometimes temporarily change seats to speak to their colleagues. However, reports said it was unusual for a Chief Minister to leave the seat specifically allotted to him and sit in a minister’s seat.
