THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Towns and cities across Kerala were filled with devotion and festive spirit as Sree Krishna Jayanti was celebrated with traditional fervour. Processions were organised under the leadership of Balagokulam.
Special pujas and celebrations were held at Sree Krishna temples, including the famous Guruvayur temple. Streets came alive with children dressed as little Krishnas, wearing yellow silk clothes, peacock feathers on their heads and carrying flutes. Girls dressed as gopikas also took part in the celebrations, while devotional songs praising Lord Krishna filled the air.
The processions featured traditional musical performances, cultural programmes and colourful floats. Uriyadi, a traditional pot-breaking event, was also held, along with the distribution of sweets.
