Moving KSRTC bus catches fire in Chadayamangalam; passengers evacuated

KOLLAM: A KSRTC superfast bus caught fire in Chadayamangalam. The incident happened near Kuriyod Friday morning at 5.30. The bus that caught fire was heading towards Thiruvananthapuram from Punalur. There were only eight passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. No casualties have been reported due to the timely intervention of the bus employees.

The driver stopped the vehicle on the road side after noticing smoke bellowing from the bus and then evacuated the passengers. Within moments, the fire began to spread to the bus. The fire was extinguished by the fire force team from Kadakkal. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.
