Pregnant women police personnel allowed salwar kameez and sandals in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women police personnel can now wear a khaki salwar kameez with a shawl in place of their regular uniform and opt for sandals instead of shoes while on duty during pregnancy.

The order was issued by IG Harshita Attaluri at the Kerala Police Headquarters following several complaints about the discomfort caused by wearing the standard trousers and shirt during pregnancy. However, women IPS officers will continue to be governed by the existing IPS uniform rules.
