Woman auto driver chases and stops police jeep carrying drunk officers during ‘Operation Toofan’ search

PATHNAMTHITTA: Three police officers have been suspended for drunken driving. They were suspended after they were found in an inebriated condition while driving the official vehicle. Action has been taken against Priyesh, Raul and Suman. A case has been registered against police driver Priyesh for driving the vehicle in an intoxicated state.
The three are officers of the DANSAF team of Pathanamthitta DySP and were part of Operation Toofan. A woman auto driver after noticing the vehicle driven recklessly chased and stopped the vehicle.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon in Pathanamthitta. The police jeep coming from the Mylapra direction was about to hit many vehicles several times. It also tried to hit the auto of the female driver. The jeep which continued journey without stopping was chased by the woman auto driver and was stopped near the office of the district police chief. The locals and the woman questioned the reckless driving. The officers were suspended after the incident sparked a controversy.
