Crab goes rogue, ‘armed’ with blade and ready to fight

FLORIDA: Forget Florida Man. This time, it appears Florida Crab has entered the chat — and it came armed.

A bizarre video doing the rounds on social media shows a crab apparently gripping a blade in one of its claws and taking swipes at a Florida man and his dog.

The video was shared by Eduardo Alvarez, who posted the footage on Instagram with the caption, “Florida is getting outta hand.”

And, judging by the footage, he may have a point.

The crab can be seen holding what appears to be a pocket-knife blade as the man’s dog, Summer, approaches to sniff the unexpected visitor. The crab then makes a sudden move with its weapon, sending the dog jumping backwards.

“Are you kidding me right now?” Alvarez can be heard saying as the bizarre encounter unfolds. He also appears to ask his dog where she found a crab carrying a “shank”.

Things get even more ridiculous when the crab turns its attention back to the man. As it continues waving the blade around, Alvarez eventually grabs it by the other claw and lifts it away.

But surrender clearly isn't part of this crab’s game plan.

Even while being picked up, the crustacean refuses to let go of its makeshift weapon.

The bizarre clip has already racked up 747.4K likes on Instagram, with viewers piling into the comments to react to the unlikely showdown.

Some users joked about sending armed crabs back into the wild, while others suggested the creature may simply have been attracted to the shiny object.

Not everyone was convinced, though. Some viewers questioned whether the bizarre scene had been staged, leaving one big question hanging over the whole affair: did this crab really find a blade, or was someone having a little too much fun with the Florida wildlife?

Either way, the crab certainly appears to have arrived prepared to settle a score.
