NEW DELHI: The Congress party has released the speech delivered by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, during the recent meeting of the opposition INDIA bloc. In his address, Rahul asserted that the third Modi government would not last long and emphasised that while the NDA government would use all its machinery to dismantle the opposition coalition, the alliance would successfully survive these challenges. Rahul stated that he is completely willing to accept any criticism from other alliance partners with a smile and a sense of absolute happiness, emphasising that it is the primary responsibility of the Congress party to keep the coalition united.
The Congress leader highlighted a difference in confidence among key alliance leaders regarding vote tampering and electoral manipulation, noting that while many remain uncertain, he is entirely convinced. Rahul stated that many top leaders in the alliance are still not completely sure about vote diversion and electoral manipulation, but he is one hundred percent certain about it. He further contextualised the scepticism among other regional leaders, noting that Mamata Banerjee holds about a 90 percent suspicion regarding election manipulation in her state, while Uddhav Thackeray and Tejashwi Yadav stand at around 40 percent suspicion each.
Rahul argued that traditional political styles will no longer succeed because the entire state apparatus operates in favour of the BJP. He alleged a widespread crackdown on opposition voices, noting that despite his personal YouTube channel having 10 million followers, its reach has been deliberately suppressed. He further charged that the nation's legal system, bureaucracy, and mainstream media are entirely aligned with the ruling government.
Despite advocating for national unity within the bloc, Rahul drew a firm line regarding local political dynamics, explicitly addressing the situation in Kerala and his stance toward the state leadership. He clarified that he cannot and will not stretch out to hug Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan because he shares a clear and direct political battle with him. He emphasised that the INDIA bloc must move forward collectively while clearly understanding these ground-level realities.
Concluding his address, Rahul expressed strong optimism that intense public resentment would eventually trigger the collapse of the current government. He urged opposition leaders to abandon fear and adopt a path of active resistance to weaken the BJP, declaring that the Congress party firmly rejects the political vision of the BJP and the RSS. He asserted that even if it demands the ultimate sacrifice of their lives, Congress workers will never bow their heads before the RSS.
