
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police have intensified their anti-drug crackdown under Operation Toofan, a statewide special drive that has been underway for the past several days. As part of the operation, individuals suspected of involvement in narcotics trafficking and sales have been subjected to rigorous inspections. On Wednesday alone, police booked 182 cases involving the possession of banned narcotic substances and arrested 192 people. Seizures made during the day's operation included 31.15 grams of MDMA, 3.59089 kilograms of cannabis, and 113 cannabis-filled beedis.
Since the launch of Operation Toofan, authorities have registered a total of 1,768 cases across Kerala and arrested 1,902 individuals. The cumulative seizures include 1.217 kilograms of MDMA, 115.790 kilograms of cannabis, and 1,130 cannabis-filled beedis.
Police have appealed to the public to assist in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing information about narcotics-related activities.
