Kalamassery blast; Strict action against those sharing hateful posts, it was bomb that exploded, says DGP

KOCHI: The police asked not to share any hateful posts on social media in connection with the explosion at the Jehovah's Witnesses convention in Kalamassery. The DGP said that strict action will be taken against those sharing provocative posts.

The DGP said the police are investigating who is behind the blast. The remains of IED were recovered from the incident site. The DGP also confirmed that it was a bomb blast. He also informed that a special investigation team will be formed. Union Minister V Muraleedharan told the media that there will be an investigation by central agencies in the blast.

A woman was killed in the blast and 36 people were injured. It is reported that the condition of seven people is serious. The bomb exploded Sunday morning at the Samra International Convention Center near the Medical College in Kalamassery at around 9:30 this morning. Today was the last day of the meet which has been going on since October 27. It is reported that more than 2000 people participated in the meet. The injured were shifted to Kalamassery Medical College.
