KANNUR: Electricity Minister Sunny Joseph denied reports of power outage in the state but addressed the issue as occasional power failures. The minister clarified that the power failure is due to the ongoing maintenance work and requested cooperation from people for a few more days.

“It is important to have a self-dependent situation with electricity. There are many things to be studied in the sector. We will cover it all, and will talk to former ministers and officials for this.”

Sunny Joseph said that electricity is an important element like air and water, essential for human life.

The minister vowed to make Kerala God's Own Country by preserving its natural beauty, and that everyone's cooperation is needed for comprehensive development. Sunny Joseph, who arrived in Kannur for the first time after taking oath as the Minister for Electricity, Parliamentary Affairs and Environment, was speaking at the ‘Meet the Press’ event held at the Kannur Press Club.
