PALAKKAD: Anilkumar, Principal of Anakkara Government Higher Secondary School, has come out with an explanation for the incident of a Plus One student threatening him. The Principal responded to the media after the Higher Secondary Joint Director and the Child Rights Commission sought an explanation under the Minister's instructions.

The principal said that the PTA meeting has decided to provide counselling to the child. He also clarified that the child was not kept away. He said the footage was captured to be sent to the child's father, who was working abroad, and the child was not suspended.

'We always monitor the child. The video was taken by the teacher who was there when the child threatened me. The video has not been leaked by the school. The video was sent only to the child's parents and the police. I'm not sure where the video leaked from. So, I am not responding to that.

I did not tell the child that I would not return the phone. I told the boy that his parents should come to receive the phone. The boy apologized now. I said no need to apologize. We are trying to improve his situation. The child is upset because the video has gone viral. That is why he was absent from school for two days. The child will be counselled. The child has realized that what he had done was wrong. It is not a complaint that was given to the police. Only a report was given to the police that such an incident took place, the principal said.
