'I don't write for award', M Kunhaman rejects Kerala Sahitya Akademi award

KOZHIKODE: Writer and thinker M Kunhaman has refused to accept the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award for his autobiography. Kunhaman stated that he has conveyed this to the Akademi Secretary.

"I am not writing books for awards or recognition. I write out of social and academic motivation. I've never sought any recognition. I'm gratefully declining this award," he said. Kunhaman's 'Ethiru' and Prof TJ Joseph's 'Attupokatha Ormakal' won the award for best autobiography.

The Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards 2021 were announced on Wednesday.
