Binu captured naked visuals of Nithya along with 75-year-old man, actress bursts into tears saying she has no money

KOLLAM: Nephew of the 75-year-old man, a football coach of Kerala University after retiring from the army, and a serial actress was nabbed for honey trapping the ex-serviceman. Nithya (40), an advocate in Pathanamthitta Malayalappuzha Temple and Binu (48) of ParavoorNegungolam Karadimukku Sivanandam are the two arrested. Rs 11 lakh were grabbed from the army man.

The police said the 75-year-old, now living in Pattom, owns a house and a farmhouse near Paravur Kalakkode. He entrusted his nephew Binu to sell all these. Binu sent messages to many people on WhatsApp the information of the land. Seeing this, Nithya contacted Binu, whom he had known for the past one and a half years. Binu introduced Nithya to the 75-year-old man. She met him many times and came close to him. She held discussions with him on buying his properties. As the friendship became stronger, she agreed to take it for rent.

The 75-year-old along with Nithya came to the house in Kalakkode on June 6. Binu captured the naked visuals of the two through the bedroom window on his mobile phone. Binu demanded Rs 25 lakh from him saying that he would circulate these pictures via social media. He demanded Rs 15 lakh from the retired army man and Rs 10 lakh from Nithya.

He did not understand that the two were trapping him. Nithya cried saying that she has no money. With this, he deposited Rs 11 lakh in Nithya's bank account in two instalments, to give Binu. After handing over the money, Binu pretended setting on fire his phone containing the visuals. However, after a few days, Binu demanded Rs 4 lakh again. He forwarded the visuals believed to have destroyed, via WhatsApp. Nitya also forced him to settle it by giving money. Suspecting that this was a game between the two, he lodged a complaint with the Paravur police on July 18. Unaware of this, Nithya and Binu constantly contacted the old man on phone. Meanwhile, as per the instructions of the police, he called both of them to his flat in Pattom. The Paravur police arrested the two when they arrived on Wednesday.

Paravur circle inspector A Nisar, sub inspectors Vijayakumar, Pradeep and CPOs Sheeja, Deepak Das and Anil nabbed the accused.

The initial information is that Rs 11 lakh given to Nithya was not handed over to Binu. Their account will be inspected and then will question the two in detail.

Nithya had earlier worked as legal advisor at CAPEX in Kollam. Nithya was removed from the post after M D Rajesh, who conducted the temporary appointment, was suspended.
