KOLLAM: In a bizarre incident, the Motor Vehicle Department has issued a notice in the name of a man who died two years ago for riding a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet. The notice was issued in the name of Alappuzha Neerattupuram native CV Kurian. As per the notice, Kurian has to pay a fine of Rs 3500 for riding a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet.
The notice stated that Kurian travelled on a two-wheeler in Kottarakkara without wearing a helmet. It also stated that he should reach the MVD office at Kollam Mini Civil Station within fifteen days if there was any explanation to be given on the matter.
Kurian, who had worked in the Health Department, had a two-wheeler several years ago. His family members said that he had sold the vehicle to someone else 15 years ago as he was unable to drive.
