ROME: During his visit to Rome, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a special gift from India to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Modi gifted her Melody chocolates made by Parle Products. Meloni later shared photos and videos of the gift on social media.
In the video, Meloni can be seen smiling and saying, “Prime Minister Modi brought as a gift, a very, very good toffee- Melody.” The two leaders then say “Melody” together on camera. Meloni shared the video with a caption thanking Modi for the gift.
The term “Melodi” had already become a popular social media trend earlier, combining the names Modi and Meloni. The hashtag gained popularity after friendly moments between the two leaders during the G20 Summit and COP28 summits. Meloni had previously shared several photos and videos with Modi, which further boosted the trend online.
Modi arrived in Rome on Tuesday as the final leg of his five-country visit. Soon after landing, he attended a dinner meeting with Meloni. The two leaders later visited the famous Colosseum in Rome together.
Modi also shared pictures from the visit on social media platform X. He said he was looking forward to official discussions on strengthening India-Italy friendship and cooperation further.
