CHENNAI: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi's granddaughter slapped an SBI Bank Manager in Chennai, igniting a huge uproar. The police registered a case against Kayalvizhi, the daughter of former Union Minister MK Alagiri, in the incident. After the CCTV footage of the incident was released, Kayalvizhi came under heavy criticism.
The incident took place at the SBI Adyar branch in Chennai. A dispute over the repair of a broken lift in the bank building triggered the assault. The bank operates in a commercial building owned by Kayalvizhi. Enraged by the manager's request to repair the lift, Kayalvizhi got up from her seat and slapped him on the face. The CCTV footage of the incident is out.
Based on the bank manager's complaint, the Chennai police registered a case against Kayalvizhi under four sections. The police have collected CCTV footage as key evidence.
