Elderly gored to death by wild gaur in Kollam

KOLLAM: An elderly man was gored to death by a wild gaur in Kulathupuzha. He has been identified as Basheer (68) of Beema Manzil. The gaur attacked him when he was going to Kulathupuzha Town Thursday morning. A big protest is being staged there. The locals have earlier said that the area is constantly plagued by wild gaurs. They alleged that the forest department has failed to take effective action to address the recurring threat. The officials of the forest department have reached the spot.
