As the rift within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) continues to intensify, Shwetha Menon said that her fight is against the 'power group' within the organization. In a Facebook post, she said that she cannot face the power group alone, but she can expose them through her fight. Her post says that she noticed financial irregularities committed by some from AMMA’s funds and when she questioned it, they started trying to insult her.

I have seen many people mocking our organization on social media, saying that most members of AMMA are 'out of the field' and no longer have any work in films.
However, let me say one thing openly--that is the truth. There are many artists in AMMA who live without a steady income. AMMA’s aim is to support such members, helping them live with dignity without having to beg, buy medicines, and even afford a single meal.
To raise funds for this, Lalettan, Mammookka and other stars having a strong market value dedicate their time and effort to participate in AMMA's sponsored programmes.
We have never looked at whether the money comes from a Hindu, a Muslim, a Christian, a temple, a church, a mosque, Ambani, or Adani. We have always accepted everyone who came forward to help with the same gratitude.
I found financial irregularities committed by some of the accused in the past in the funds that were meant for the treatment, medicine and welfare activities of the members of AMMA...
It was only after I started questioning these, they began trying to humiliate me. They even attempted to manhandle me during the general body meeting. It was under those circumstances that I began thinking about leaving AMMA.
No ordinary woman can single-handedly face the 'power group' in the Malayalam film industry. Anyone can understand this by looking at the list of attacks I have faced from the day I contested for the post of AMMA President until today.
Why did even Lalettan resign as AMMA President? Didn't he also wonder why he should bear the blame for the manipulations and fraud allegedly committed by these individuals?
At no stage was my fight about securing any post or personal gain.
My fight has always been against those who committed financial irregularities in AMMA and against certain accused individuals.
They believe they can silence me by spreading lies and defaming me.
No matter how many lies they spread about me or how much they humiliate me, I will never go back from this fight.
Because this is a fight to protect the rights of AMMA and its ordinary members. Even if I lose this battle, it does not matter.
Because through this fight, that power group has already been exposed before AMMA's members. That is my greatest victory.
