KOZHIKODE: A portion of the Thorayikkadavu bridge under construction at Chemanchery, Koyilandy, collapsed on Thursday. The bridge, intended to connect the Koyilandy and Balussery constituencies, suffered damage when one of its beams tilted and fell into the river. The incident occurred at the mid-river section of the structure.
It is alleged that construction flaws have led to the mishap. One worker sustained injuries in the accident. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 24 crore, is being executed by PMR Group under the supervision of the Kerala PWD’s Road Fund Board.
