THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SFI on Thursday besieged teachers at Govt Law College in Thiruvananthapuram. The SFI workers detained the principal and teachers after the principal took action against SFI activists over the conflict between SFI and KSU the other day in connection with the college union elections. The protest, which started at 4 pm, continued late into the night. The principal had suspended 24 SFI activists who were part of the conflict.
The SFI alleged that the college authorities only took action against SFI activists only while sparing KSU activists. After this, the SFI activists detained the teachers from going out of the campus, alleging that action was taken against SFI activists without any reason. The principal, however, asserted that he suspended the students after checking the CCTV footage in response to the complaint. The principal and student leaders held discussions with the management late at night.
