Patient stuck in lift of Medical college; Three employees suspended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Suspension of three employees in the incident of patient getting stuck in the damaged lift of Medical College Hospital. Action has been taken against two lift operators and a duty sergeant. Health Minister Veena George had directed an immediate investigation into the incident. The action is based on the investigation. The Health Minister had given instructions to the Director of the Medical Education Department.

Ravindran Nair, a native of Thiruvananthapuram, who had reached the hospital's ortho department at 11 am on Saturday, got stuck inside the lift. The elderly man was found unconscious inside the lift while the lift operator was fixing the technical problem this morning. Ravindran Nair was lying in the middle of excrement.

The lift was damaged around 12 o'clock on Saturday. At this time, Ravindran Nair was trapped inside the lift. But the hospital authorities did not even confirm that anyone was trapped in the damaged lift.

Ravindran Nair's mobile phone fell on the ground and was destroyed. Ravindran Nair said that when the lift moved suddenly with a loud noise and shaking, the mobile phone fell on the ground and broke. The information received is that the elderly person has overcome the critical condition.
