Police team attacked by goons while attempting to capture accused; CI, CPO sustain injuries

THRISSUR: A Circle Inspector (CI) and a Civil Police Officer (CPO) were injured after the police team was attacked by a gang of goons while attempting to capture a KAAPA case accused. The injured policemen are Ollur CI Farshad and CPO Vipindas. They were attacked when they arrived near the Ayyappankavu temple in Ancheri to catch the KAAPA case accused. They were attacked by a gang led by a goon named Marimuthu.

The incident took place at around 7 pm on Thursday. Marimuthu and the gang, who were under the influence of alcohol, attacked the policemen using knives. The CI was stabbed three times in the left shoulder. The CPO sustained an injury on his leg. The condition of the CI is satisfactory. Three people, including Marimuthu, have been taken into custody by the police.
