CHENNAI: Popular Tamil comedian Pandu passed away of Covid on Thursday. He was 74. He and his wife who tested positive for the virus were under treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.
Pandu's wife is still in the ICU.
Pandu started his film in 1970 with the Jaishankar-Muthuraman starrer Maanavan. His last film was Indha Nilai Maarum.
Pandu was running a design company called 'Capital Letters.' It is said that the actor had designed the iconic flag of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) and Tamil Nadu tourism logo. Pandu is the third member of the Tamil film fraternity to succumb to the virus in the last few weeks. Recently director Thamira and K V Anand had also died of Covid-19. Pandu is survived by his wife and three sons, Pintu, Prabhu and Panju.
