DOHA: The United States and Iran have resumed their counter-attacks within days of the peace agreement coming into effect. The United States and Iran have decided to halt the counter-attacks and hold talks in order to bring peace to the Middle East and resolve the issue over the Strait of Hormuz. The meeting will be held tomorrow in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The peace talks have been prepared after both countries carried out multiple attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States had attacked military bases in the region, accusing the Iranian regime of violating the ceasefire agreement by attacking commercial ships. In response, Iran launched drone and ballistic missile attacks on American military bases in Gulf countries such as Bahrain and Kuwait. Both countries warned that they would retaliate if the attacks continued. It was after this that the decision to start peace talks was taken.
American sources also said that ships can pass freely through Hormuz at this time. The US bombed military bases in southern Iran on Qeshm Island, Sirik and Bandar Lengeh early yesterday. The provocation came after Iran's drone attack on a Panamanian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. Iran later retaliated by targeting the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the US naval base in Bahrain. Kuwait and Bahrain repelled the attacks. There were no casualties. However, a drone hit buildings and vehicles in Muharraq, Bahrain, causing damage.
