CISF jawan suspended over alleged photographing of woman on Delhi Metro

NEW DELHI: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan has been suspended after he was allegedly caught taking photographs of a woman passenger without her consent inside a Delhi Metro coach at AIIMS Metro Station. The incident took place late on Saturday night and subsequently surfaced on social media through a video showing passengers confronting the CISF personnel. Police sources said the incident occurred at AIIMS Metro Station on the Yellow Line.

According to Metro Police sources, a PCR call reporting the incident was received at around 12.40 am on Sunday. The woman and other passengers alleged that the CISF personnel had been taking photographs of her without her consent. The jawan initially denied taking the photographs. However, when the woman and other passengers demanded to see his mobile phone's photo gallery, photographs of the woman were reportedly found on the device.

The discovery led to a confrontation inside the coach. The woman can be heard in the purported video demanding that the photographs be deleted, while passengers also confronted the jawan and tried to take his phone. The situation escalated into a physical altercation as the CISF personnel resisted and attempted to get away.

Police personnel reached the spot after receiving the PCR call. However, the woman did not file a formal complaint, according to Metro Police sources. The matter was subsequently brought to the attention of CISF officials.

CISF sources said the personnel was suspended after the incident came to light and that an inquiry has been initiated into the allegations.
The incident has since triggered discussion online after the video of the confrontation went viral. The allegations against the CISF personnel remain subject to the departmental inquiry.
