Palakkad native killed as building collapses in Delhi; four seriously injured

NEW DELHI: A Malayali hailing from Palakkad was killed after a building collapsed in Tahirpur, Delhi, on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Satheesan, a native of Palakkad. The accident occurred around 4.30 pm near Dilshad Garden. Satheesan was trapped under the debris after the building collapsed. Although rescue workers pulled him out and rushed him to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Dilshad Garden, he was soon declared dead by the doctors. Four others were injured in the accident and their condition is reportedly serious.

Satheesan's body has been kept in the hospital mortuary. It will be handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem. Satheesan ran a bakery-borma business in the building. He is survived by his wife Sabitha and a daughter who is a first-year undergraduate student at Delhi University.
