Case against makeup artist Jaanmoni for defaming Prime Minister Modi

KOZHIKODE: A case has been registered against celebrity makeup artist and former Bigg Boss contestant Jaanmoni Das on the complaint of defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The case was registered by the Kozhikode Cyber Police on the complaint of Mahila Morcha state president Navya Haridas. The case has been booked under Sections 192 and 356(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act. The FIR filed said Jaanmoni allegedly made defamatory and insulting remarks against the Prime Minister with the intention of creating public unrest and disturbing communal harmony.

Jaanmoni expressed regret over the remarks in a video shared on Instagram. ‘I never intended to hurt anyone. I want to apologise publicly. I was not referring to the Prime Minister's mother. I just asked a question related to some content, not speaking about Modiji. Perhaps my Malayalam wasn't clear enough, which led to the misunderstanding. I never wanted to offend anyone. If I have made a mistake, I apologise sincerely.
