THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 19-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide just two months after her marriage. She has been identified as Naziya, daughter of Noushad and Saheera of Naziya Mansil at Rathickal in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram. She was found hanging in her own house Wednesday evening.
She was first taken to a private hospital in Varkala and later to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, but died Thursday early morning.
She got married two months ago. Her husband Ansar of Thekkumbhagam in Paravur is working in Kuwait. He returned to his workplace 13 days after the wedding. Relatives said that she was upset for being staying away from her husband. Nazia, who was at her husband's house, returned home a week ago after suffering from food poisoning.
The inquest proceedings are being held in the presence of the RDO. The body will be shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for postmortem. Varkala police said further steps are being taken in the incident.
