THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A young civil service aspirant was found hanging in her apartment in Thiruvananthapuram. Anusha (28), a native of Viyyur, Thrissur, who was living on rent in a flat near Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan in Nanthancode, was found dead in the incident.
The young woman had told her family that she cleared the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) in the 2025 civil service examination and was continuing her studies in Thiruvananthapuram to improve her rank, aiming for IAS. However, the story was found to be a hoax. Anusha was found dead at 6 pm on Sunday. Her body was found in a bedroom on the second floor of the house. The police ruled out any mystery and said the young woman committed suicide out of fear of her family coming to know the truth about her IAS preparation.
The woman was found hanging by the house owner and police after her friend raised the alarm at 5 pm on Sunday, after Anusha failed to open the door.
