THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Strong winds and rain are likely in Kerala. The Indian Meteorological Department informed that strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph are likely in isolated places today and tomorrow (July 14 and 15).
Meanwhile, no warning has been issued for any districts in the state by IMD.
There is a possibility of accidents due to the uprooting of trees in strong winds. During wind and rain, one should not stand under trees or park vehicles under any circumstances.
Teetering branches of trees in the yard should be cut down. If you notice dangerous trees in public places, inform the relevant local bodies.
Unsecured billboards, electric posts, and flagpoles, which are likely to fall in the wind, should be properly strengthened or dismantled when there is no wind or rain.
Tools and other objects that are likely to fall in the wind, such as ladders leaning against walls or other objects, should be tied with ropes.
Windows and doors should be closed as soon as the wind starts blowing. Do not stand near windows and doors. Avoid standing on the terrace of the house.
