MANCHESTER: After winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bat against India in the first semifinal of the World Cup here on Tuesday. New Zealand endured a difficult start as they lost Guptill early to a Jasprit Bumrah delivery. Then Henry Nicholls and skipper Kane Williamson steadied the innings. However, the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja broke the partnership as he bowled Nicholls after he scored a 51-ball 28. New Zealand is now 121 for the loss of 2 wickets after 32 overs. Kane Williamson (56*) and Ross Taylor (22*) is at the crease.

India made one change in their playing eleven, replacing Kuldeep Yadav with Yuzvendra Chahal. A fit again Lockie Ferguson replaced Tim Southee in the New Zealand line-up.
