KOZHIKODE: Police have arrested two CPM workers for their alleged Maoist link. CPM activists Alan Shuhaib abd Thaha Fazal were arrested, invoking the provisions of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Both are CPM branch committee members. Police said they had recovered pro-Maoist literature from the duo. Shuhaib is a law student of Kannur University and Thaha is a journalism student.

The police said the students had distributed pamphlets against the police attack on Maoists in Palakkad. They took them into custody on Friday evening from a place called Pantheeramkavu. After that, the police raided their houses.
