Two Youth Congress leaders arrested in Malappuram for spreading misleading news

MALAPPURAM: Two Youth Congress leaders were arrested from Malappuram district for spreading misleading news over social media. The arrested have been identified as Shakeer Thuvvakkad and Shareef,

The two had shared WhatsApp message saying a train had been arranged at Nilambur railway station for the guest workers to travel home, police said. Several migrant workers had gathered together after they received these messages, police added.

The two have been charged under various sections such as 153 of IPC and 118 of KAP. Following this, Malappuram district collector announced that strict action will be taken against all those who spread fake and misleading messages.
