CNG, electric buses to operate under 'Swift', company to begin its operation from January 1

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC's sub-company 'Swift' will start its operations from January 1. The name of the company-Swift-is that of a bird. New CNG, electric and long-distance services will be brought under this new company. KSRTC chief Biju Prabhakar will be the ex officio CMD of this company. With government project shares of Rs 50 crores, 100 new diesel buses will be bought.

The legal advice to give permanent employment to empanel staff with more than 10 years of experience has been sought. Temporary appointment will be given to those with less than 10 years of employment at the new company. The KSRTC has also decided not to give re-employment to the temporary ministerial employees who relieved from duty.
