Panchaloha idol worth Rs 2 crore stolen from factory in Chengannur, mysterious, says police

ALAPPUZHA: A panchaloha idol worth Rs two crore has been stolen from an idol manufacturing unit at Karakkad in Chengannur. The idol weighing 60 kilos were made to install in a temple in London.

A gang barged into the house of Mahesh, who is engaged in making idols, and then decamped with it. They attacked him and then fled with the idol. A former employee of the unit is suspected to be behind the theft. Police said that there is something mysterious in the incident.
