Murder of CPM leader in Thrissur; car used by accused found abandoned, CPM alleges BJP behind attack

THRISSUR: The car in which the accused in the murder case of the CPM leader in Chittilangad was travelling has been found abandoned in Kunnamkkulam. Eight people are suspected to be in the team. Four accused have been identified. Meantime, The CPM has alleged that BJP was behind the attack.

P U Sanoop (26), Puthussery CPM branch secretary was murdered last night at 10.30 pm. Sanoop who sustained serious injuries in the attack died on the spot itself. Three CPM activists identified as Jithin, Vipin and their friend were injured in the attack. Minister A C Moideen visited the spot Monday morning. He also stated that it is a political murder.

The incident happened when Sanoop along with his friends went to drop one of their friends. A verbal dispute broke out with a group standing there and this led to the murder.

After completing the inquest proceedings, the body will be handed over to his relatives after the post mortem. A large contingent of police have been deployed in the area.
