Actress Nayanthara is said to have taken a bold decision after facing three back to back debacles at the box office. The actress, who has acted in four films this year namely Viswasam, Aira, Mr. Local and Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, had a pretty tough time at the box office with all except Viswasam failing to attract the crowd.
Now, sources close to the actress say that Nayanthara has decided to cut down her salary due to the recent failures. The actress has been receiving a whopping six crores per film which makes her the highest-paid actress in South India. According to sources, she has apparently said that she will not be adamant about the salary if she gets impressed by the story and script. The actress' decision has received warm responses from the producers. While Aira and Kolaiyuthir had the actress playing the protagonist, Mr. Local saw her pairing with actor Sivakarthikeyan.
Nayanthara is currently working on actor Chiranjeevi's historical film 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' and Nivin Pauly's 'Love Action Drama.' Reports also suggest that the actress has been roped in to play an important character in Mani Ratnam's upcoming film 'Ponniyin Selvan.'
