HC directs state government to fix prices of sanitizers, face masks

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday directed the state government to issue a circular fixing the prices of face masks and sanitizers immediately.

The government was also asked to initiate strong action against those who are trying to create artificial scarcity of sanitizers and masks in the state. The direction was made by the bench consisting of Chief Justice S Manikumar and Justice Shaji P Chali while considering a public interest litigation that sought to control the prices of sanitizers and masks.

The court also directed the state to create awareness about the prices of the commodities through print and electronic media.
