Kerala has highest number of active COVID cases in the country, followed by Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health, said that it was a relief to see the decline in COVID positivity rates in all the states in the country. He said that Kerala accounts for 38 percent of the total active COVID cases in the country. Kerala is followed by Maharashtra (37%), Karnataka (4%) and Tamil Nadu (2.78%).

The number of active cases has come down to less than 1.5 lakh. The average daily mortality rate remains below 100. The COVID positivity rate in the country is 5.19 percent. The positivity rate has been declining in the last few weeks. Bhushan added that as many as 1,17,64,788 people have been vaccinated till 1 pm on Monday.
