thushar-

KOCHI: It is almost certain that BDJS state president Thushar Vellappally will contest from Thrissur as the NDA candidate. This will be announced in New Delhi on Tuesday. Thushar, who had shied away from contesting the election, finally gave in to the repeated persuasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.

With this development, Thrissur will be the centre of attraction in the election scenario. Rajai Mathew Thomas is the LDF candidate and UDF candidate is T N Prathapan. Entry of Thushar into the fray ensures a strong fight among candidates. BDJS has a strong basis in the constituency.

BDJS will be contesting in five constituencies including Thrissur. Other candidates are: Mavelikkara: Thazhava Sahadevan, Idukki: Biju Krishnan
Alathur: T V Babu, Wayanad: Anto Augustine.

Meanwhile, his father and BDJS chief Vellapally Natensan said that he came to know about his son’s candidature only through TV.
