Thiruvananthapuram on high alert as food delivery man tests positive for COVID-19

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With an online food delivery man testing positive for novel coronavirus in Thiruvananthapuram, the district administration has stepped up vigil to prevent community transmission of the disease. The infected person has been identified as a 37-year-old man who had delivered food for Zomato. It is learnt that person had been living in a lodge near the Palayam fish market and had delivered food around Palayam region.

The person had been in home quarantine ever since he experienced COVID symptoms and his samples were collected on July 1. Meanwhile, Thiruvananthapuram district reported 16 fresh coronavirus cases on Saturday.
