Palarivattom Bridge: Load test to be completed today, a happy moment, says E Sreedharan

KOCHI: The load test of the Palarivattom flyover will be completed today. The DMRC is likely to hand over the inspection report to the government by afternoon. E Sreedharan informed that the construction of the Palarivattom flyover will be completed tomorrow. He said the DMRC did not take over the construction eyeing profit.

'This is a happy moment. Had been able to complete the construction of the bridge on time. Special thanks to the Uralungal Society. The state government has to decide when the bridge should be opened. The bridge will be handed over to RBDCK by Sunday,’ he said.

The load test was carried out on the 35 and 22 metre long spans on the bridge. The bridge will be opened to the public on the basis of a certificate issued by the Public Works Department and RBDCK after evaluating the inspection report. Only minor works like painting remain. The construction of the Palarivattom Bridge was completed in five months and ten days.
