Bevco outlets closed till April 14, possibility of online sale examined, kit of essential items to BPL families

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be no sale of liquor till April 14 in bars and liquor shops of the beverages. With this, 265 outlets of Beverages Corporation and 36 outlets under the consumer fed will be shut down. Instead the possibility of online sale is being examined. The decision was taken at the cabinet meet convened here today.

The cabinet decided to supply a kit containing essential items to BPL families of the state. Those on the priority list will be given 15 kg of rice. Others will be provided if needed. The cabinet also decided to reduce the number of employees in government offices.

Meantime, the cabinet made some changes again in the time of functioning of ration shops in the state. The new timing will be from 9 am to 1 pm and then from 2 pm to 5 pm.
